From the first meal plan to the miles confirmation
Crewsy covers a trip from planning ashore until after you've tied up for the last time. Here's what each part can do.

Meals
Breakfast, lunch, dinner: whoever cooks adds their meal. Type in the ingredients or paste a ready-made list. For recipe sites that publish their recipes in a machine-readable format, the link is enough.
- Quantities are scaled from the recipe to your crew size and rounded to pack sizes you can actually buy.
- For common ingredients, Crewsy suggests an amount per person.
- The meal plan shows how many meals are still missing. Evenings at a restaurant are simply left out.
- You assign cooking teams for dinner.
Shopping list
All your meals turn into one list without anyone doing the maths. Matching ingredients are added up, grams and kilos converted, and everything is grouped in supermarket order.
- Anything that can't be combined, like a tin and a jar, stays separate instead of being guessed.
- When someone ticks off an item, the others see it within seconds, and Crewsy remembers who it was.
- Add your own items, such as bin bags or charcoal.
- Staples without a quantity count as on-board stock, not as missing.
Drinks
Crewsy calculates drinks per person per day, not per meal: 1.5 litres of water for eight people over seven days is 84 litres. If someone joins or drops out, the amount changes too.
- Enter the amount per person per day or as a total; Crewsy works out the other.
- Soft drinks come before alcoholic ones, listed separately.
- An overview shows how much of each drink is planned per person per day.
Leftovers and follow-up trip
After the trip, you enter what's left. When the skipper creates the next trip from it, Crewsy carries over meals, your own items and the packing list, and the quantities follow what you actually used.
- Too much pasta, not enough water: what you used corrects the amounts for next time.
- Crewsy suggests the follow-up trip with the same name and the dates one year later.
Packing list
Before you leave, the question isn't whether something is ticked off, but whether someone is bringing it, and how many. Everyone commits: “I'll bring 2”. Next to each item you see whether it's covered, missing or coming twice.
- Two lists: “Shared” for what the crew shares, and “Personal” for your own bag.
- The skipper can pass their personal list on to the crew as a template.
- Missing, Too few, Covered, Too many: the status of every line at a glance.
Expenses
The kitty: whoever paid adds the expense, with a photo of the receipt if they like. Crewsy keeps track of the balances and shows who owes whom how much.
- Split equally, by shares, by percentage, to the exact cent, or with an extra amount for individuals.
- “Who owes whom” simplified or pair by pair; mark completed transfers as paid.
- Breakdown by person, category and day.
- The skipper can import a Splitwise export as a CSV file.
- The whole crew sees the same kitty. Amounts in euros.
Sea miles
The skipper uploads the GPX track for each sailing day. Crewsy shows the legs on a chart with navigation marks, calculates the distance over ground and leaves out swinging at anchor.
- Anyone who wasn't on board on a given day doesn't get that day's miles.
- Every crew member gets their sea miles confirmation as a PDF: name, role, yacht, sailing area, route, chart and legs.
- If the skipper has saved their signature, it's added automatically.
Activity log
Who took the milk off the list? Every change to meals, lists, crew and expenses is in the log, with name and time.
Trip info and documents
Boat, base and contract, price, insurance, weather and tips for the sailing area in one place, plus the PDFs for the trip. Only the skipper sees the trip info, and they can keep individual documents to themselves too.
Crew and roles
The skipper sends the invitations: each crew member gets their own link, valid for 14 days. Whoever opens it comes aboard with their own account or via quick access with a name and password.
- Skipper, co-skipper, crew: the role appears next to every name and on the sea miles confirmation.
- Invitations, trip info and tracks stay with the skipper.
- German or English: everyone on board sets their own language.
On any phone
Crewsy is a web app: no app store, no installation, no updates. From your home screen it opens full screen like an app. It needs an internet connection, whether marina Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Hosted in Germany
Crewsy runs on its own server in Germany. No analytics services, no ads, fonts served from the same server. Two cookies: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your language.
Not finished yet
The app for iPhone and Android, official charts, automatic route planning, anchorages and harbours on the map: that's what's being built right now. How far along each one is, you'll find on the roadmap.
